and 3-4 wasted logins per day.
Reduce capacity problems by
speeding bed turnarounds.

surgeries cancelled due to
lack of available beds by as

Horizon Enterprise Visibility is the visual control system that’s transforming Patient Flow and Bed Management, helping hospitals to meet their commitments to 'Releasing Time to Care' and operating not just a Productive Ward but, a more Productive Hospital.
The solution works by taking feeds from a hospital’s disparate information systems and displaying patient flow information using colour-coded, time-stamped icons against a hospital floor plan. The information is displayed on large format LCD screens and is highly intuitive. This allows staff to see “at a glance” when beds are free, who is waiting to be discharged, patient safety attributes (e.g. Fall Risk, Nil by mouth, MRSA Swab Status and VTE Risk), as well as when imaging results and lab results are ready. By incorporating RFID feeds the location of essential equipment can also be tracked.

Through this centralised display, Horizon Enterprise Visibility helps healthcare organisations achieve better outcomes of patient care, by improving patient flow through the hospital and safely and effectively towards discharge. This visual control system brings all ward information, and critical enterprise-wide departmental information together through one electronic overview. Designed to make nurses’ lives easier, Horizon Enterprise Visibility allows real-time information about their patients without multiple logins to different systems, having to use pagers or make repetitive phone calls to various departments and staff.
The visual system affords transparency across the Trust; encouraging greater accountability and quickly identifiying areas for improvement. With holistic information available in this way, it is allowing clinicians and nursing staff to release more time to care.
When deciding whether to approve a new technology investment, executives want solutions that can drive and sustain multiple enterprise wide process improvements at once — and that provide a quantifiable return on investment. McKesson’s solution broadcasts information from existing hospital systems for everyone to see and use. This exposure enhances the value of those systems by increasing their adoption and the accuracy of the information they contain. There are few infrastructure requirements and no complex integration to be done. Most “users” are simply viewers, so training amounts to reinforcing what the various visual controls mean and reinforcing the importance of relying on them to prioritise activities throughout the day. Horizon Enterprise Visibility does not replace systems, it is designed to integrate and optimise exisitng IT investments and can be implemented in as little as 90 days.
